Original Ebru art in The Colors of an Angel on beautiful Angel Wings, made of feathers.
The Angel Wings series is a tribute to my sister Cherie, who passed away in 2011, and April who passed away in 2009. April is the sister of my friend and colleague Tammy.
I decided to start a special fund that will be used to encourage art in our community. Next to her son John and Christmas, Angels were Cherie’s favorite thing ever. And now she is one, as is April.
Money generated from the sales of – or donations to – the angel wings will be put into the Cherie and April Angel Wings Fund, which will be used to provide art classes and supplies for various art forms to those in the community who wish to participate but can’t otherwise afford it – including but not limited to kids, veterans and seniors.
Size: Approximately 16″ (w) x 12″ (h). Includes bands on the back to wear or hang.
How is this made?
This ancient Turkish art involves first floating acrylic paints on water, then manipulating the design on the water by hand using a stylus or various forms of rakes and combs before finally being transferred to beautiful feathers that make up these amazing angel wings. For the most part, the feathers remain soft and flexible. You can also use other fabric types and papers.
Can the angel wings be framed?
Yes, absolutely! Fabric art is lovely and efforts should be made to preserve your piece. You can use a standard frame or get a custom frame, depending on your personal preference.
